How to help your baby through teething!
Babies suffer in many ways during the teething process. The CURAPROX Baby teething ring can help to relieve pain and promote your little one’s natural development at the same time.
Their cheeks are red, their mood is blue. Mum and baby have dark bags under their eyes and get plenty of sympathetic looks at the supermarket. ‘Oh, your baby’s teething!’ Teething - a completely natural process - is different for every child. Most get their incisors first, then the molars start to come in one by one until all 20 milk teeth are present and correct by around 30 months. Some babies really suffer, while others pop out new teeth like fresh popcorn. Nobody can really say why this is. But one thing’s for sure: teething is a major growth process and demands a lot from young children. Their mouth is sore and itchy, full of pressure and tugging sensations - and then there’s suddenly something new and hard in their mouths. Very strange!
Babies’ suffering during this time can vary a lot and can include anything from (constant) drooling to irritability, insomnia and rashes, and even diarrhoea. They can also develop a fever, which is due to inflammation in the gums surrounding the erupting tooth. But what can be done to reliably and quickly ease baby’s suffering? Gently massaging the affected gums or red cheeks is great. (This redness is caused by increased blood flow to the area. This ensures that the erupting tooth is properly provided with nutrients.)
Teething rings or teaspoons cooled in the fridge are great for biting and sucking to soothe discomfort, as are chilled carrot and cucumber sticks.
CURAPROX Baby teething rings are real all-rounders. This intelligently designed teething ring features interesting textures, a rattle, and baby’s first toothbrush. This helps to reduce teething pain - and promotes sensory motor development while preparing babies for their first toothbrush. Developed in collaboration with Dr Nadia-Marina Kellerhoff from the University of Bern.
