Tongue scraping: say goodbye to bad breath 👾 The tongue is a place for bacteria to thrive. Although it is constantly under the wash of saliva, it can accumulate foul-smelling residue over time. A tongue scraper is a great way to clean it off, making your breath even fresher. Cleaning your tongue can cause a gag reflex, here is how to avoid it — a piece of advice from Ana Stevanović, Head of Education at Curaden: “When I put the scraper on the back of my tongue I always get a gag reflex. But if I place it lightly on the side, rather than in the middle, I find it much easier to clean. First left and then right, just apply a slight pressure and then move the brush forward – it works!”

Three reasons why a soft brush is better than a hard one: ✅ Soft toothbrushes have soft and flexible bristles that cover the entire tooth and adjust to tooth shape. The more bristles a brush has, the finer and softer they can be. ✅ Your dental plaque is a soft, pudding-like substance. Soft toothbrushes clean the plaque better. ✅ Hard toothbrushes scrape away your gums until they stop protecting the neck of the tooth, which is much more sensitive to pain. Soft toothbrushes don't hurt your gums. Curaprox CS 5460 toothbrush has ultra-soft and dense bristles which are effective against plaque and gentle to your gums.

A little helper for those with braces: the Ortho Wax If your braces are uncomfortable and scratch the inner parts of your mouth, get a pack of ortho wax. The wax is transparent and flavourless, and comes in a handy case that you can carry around everywhere. Just warm up small amounts of the wax in your hand, and stick them over the parts of the braces that make your mouth feel uncomfortable. The wax will protect your mouth and prevent the braces from scratching.

Oral care during pregnancy: your step-by-step guide ✅ Do not skip brushings, even if you feel tired. Teeth are more vulnerable during pregnancy, so sticking to your routines is crucial. ✅ Use soft high-density brushes (like the Curaprox CS 5460) and interdental brushes for efficient cleaning. ✅ Use non-abrasive toothpastes like the Curaprox Enzycal series. ✅ Avoid brushing right after morning sickness or after you’ve eaten something acidic or sugary. Wait for at least 30 minutes to help your teeth recover. ✅ Avoid foods high in acids and sugars whenever possible.

Soothers (also known as dummys or pacifiers) can help your child stay relaxed, sleep better and feel less anxiety when the mother is away. However, their prolonged use can interfere with the development of the mouth, jaw and teeth, unless a properly designed soother is used. Things to look for in a soother: ✅ Soft silicone to imitate the natural feel of a nipple. ✅ A flat tip that works well with the palate and prevents an open bite. ✅ A rounded shape that prevents misalignment of teeth: the front needs to be slightly arched, spreading the suction pressure over to the jawbone and not the teeth. ✅ A breathable design that promotes proper breathing through the nose, not the mouth. Soothers are developed in different sizes based on your child’s weight, so make sure you pick the right size for your baby. ❤With that in mind, we recommend Curaprox soothers that help promote proper jaw development.

What is interdental brushing? Between every two teeth in anyone’s mouth, there is an interdental space. It can be very small, or it can be easily visible, but it’s always there. Teeth are never perfectly straight; they are wider in the crown and thinner in the neck, so there is always some space between two touching teeth. Because the interdental space is inaccessible for a toothbrush, you can’t reach it with conventional brushing. As a result, bacteria accumulate in the interdental space and can remain undisturbed for a long time. Bacteria create toxic waste that weakens the enamel and irritates the gums, consequently causing tooth decay and periodontal disease. There is also a smell, which comes as a result of bacteria living and breeding between the teeth. To prevent these effects, we need to physically disrupt the bacterial colonies accumulating between our teeth. And for that, we need: ✅ a special kind of brush ✅ small enough to fit between our teeth ✅ soft enough to not damage the enamel and the gums ✅ but effective enough to clean out all bacterial residue with an in-and-out motion This is where an interdental brush comes in: it’s a specially designed brush that helps safely remove the plaque from interdental spaces.

How to destroy the plaque The only way to properly destroy the biofilm is physically disrupting its structure. You take a soft toothbrush and clean your teeth: two times a day, gently and thoroughly, front and back, until the teeth are clean. Rushing through the process won’t work: when you don’t brush properly, there’s a lot of biofilm left on the teeth, so bacteria have no problem rebuilding their colonies in the next few hours.
